Default Starting a VL without the key?

This is going to sound really really suspicious, buty I assure you, no illegal matters are happening.

I have a mate, he has an old VL commodore in his back ward, it's been rusting away for the past few months. Anyway, he's been trying to sell it for a while now, and I finally bought it.

The deal is, he'd pay the rego cost if i can just get the car out of there basically asap. He really wants it gone. It's my car, i've technically bought it.

Only problem is, he has no key for me to start the car.

Now, I've managed to open the doors to the car with my Vk key. but I can't start the car with my Vk key.

is there any way to start the car and disable the steering lock without the key and without breaking too many expensive components?

I've already tried jamming my Vk key in there and wiggling it around, I've tried other Vl keys, I've tried picking it.

also, this is not illegal... just wanted to get that out there.

Well if you take the steering wheel off, you can get to the lock from there. As to how to disable it i'm not entirely sure but you probably can as it's just a square metal bar that is pushed in, and when you unlock the steering it pushes out, you can't miss it. Also, if you manage to get the lock off, you can always push it out of wherever it's sitting and onto a truck and try to sort it out later. As for starting it, all you need to do is make sure it's in park, then touch the 2 ignition wires together to start it, as in, mimic the motion of turning the key until it fires up, ignore what you see in movies where they twist the wires together as all that will do is force it to keep turning over and wreck it.

As for which wires to use....

    Good luck

    lol sounds dodge or stolen....

get another ignition barrel and key and change it over.

as for method on starting it with playing with wires... what about all the other systems that run when accessories are on from the key as in fuel pumps engine ecu etc etc..

This method works with Carbie Cars.. not computer controlled sub systems...

Unless u join the accessories wires in the switch of the ignition to power them all up, then touch the wires together to crank the engine...

    Understand??

another way is to take out the ignition barrel this will disable your steering lock and allow you to start it, as to how, take the steering wheel off and the blinker arm on the casting behind that on the ignition barrel side there is a imprint that is a L shaped, in the bottom corner of that u need to drill a small hole so u can stick a small screw driver through it as there is a tab behind there that holds the ignition barrel in, so push ya screw driver through there and you should be able to wriggle the whole ignition barrel out then you can start te car with a screw driver.
    hope this helps

you must have the key to use this method, otherwise the only way to remove the barell is to gut it, also to disable the steering wheel lock you must pull the tab back out of the way and jam it or it will engage as you are driving the vehicle.

you normally need a key to remove an ignition barrel without killing the coloumn....
if YOU own the car take the rhf door locl out go to a locksmiths and get a key cut from the door lock barrel, its only like 30 bucks...

get a impact drill and just go at the barrel with a decent drill bit. Once ya past the barrel with the locks and stuff on it u can start it with a flat head. Ive done it once with my old vl when some little shit pinched my keys and didnt want 2 leave my car where it was. Looked hell sus tho and had a cop rock up asking what im doing. I said stealing my car...... we wont go on 2 that happened after that tho lol
Wrecking VL factory V8 only a few bits left still have full dash/crash pad
and have a vk 202 motor and 5 speed Make an offer want it gone
