Hey guys, my mate has come across a guy willing to swap his genuine vl calais 5 litre for my old (now my mates) vs ss.
We went around today and looked at it, it needs a carby rebuild and it has a huge miss in the engine. But that all can be fixed.
What I want to know is the small things to tell if its 100% genuine, I have no idea about vl's or how much they are worth and neither does my mate, it has all the calais gear like seats/plastics etc, but anyone can chuck that on.
Any help would be awesome!
you need to check the build plate on the fire wall.

sorry it was for wilsovr
the odometer usually stuffs up around 100k so it works then doesn't then works again, then stops again.
also if all the white numbers do not line up in a reasonable straight line then chances are the clock has been wound back.

i dont realy want to disclose the exact amount but i was there at the rite time with the cash.after selling my black calais and buying a vy clubsport i still had that itch for the vl and this being v8 and hard to come by these days i couldnt not buy it........theres two stock white ones in adelaide for $6000 and a handfull in other states for around $8000+
its a series2 calais
mint trim
exhaust
cam
white nothing special
no rust
bit of lifter noise
few oil leaks
needs new rubbers
3 months rego
all electrics work
yeah the oddo in vls are not the best.
the one in my new calais clicks over the wrong kms as it goes so i dont 100% know the real kms
thats cool mate, the vs is only worth around 4k so he might get this calais, even if it needs a bit of work..
thats all good.you did sey vs ss?if so it mus be fairly sad?
vs ss would be good for daily
vlc would be good weekender
