Venetians

I am thinking about having a go at making some venetians for my car but I not sure how they are normally constructed. I have a fair idea, but haven't quite figured out the fine details yet.
I know that quite a few of you have them, so i was hoping that you could post a few close up pics of them in a few different places.
eg. where the slats meet the steel bars
where they slot into the window trim
the ends of the slats.

i would really appreciate it
