Default 2 questions

i got another VL the same as mine for parts from the council for $240, it had been dumped, they had several other dumped VLs too
mine is almost complete but when trying to start it all that happens is a loud clicking noise which doesnt seem to be from the starter motor
any ideas?

what is the series 2 VL? ive read of this, did it have different front seatd? what else was different?

door trims, seats, radiator, sometimes the dash, handles and the block had the turbo holes in but plugged up

As for the starting problem, i would check the battery or the starter relay. most likely your battery or connections are not up to scratch........

Series 2 Calais had a solid headrest while the Series 1 had hard hollow ones

my series 2 would be impossible to play 'spot the difference' with. i think its a bitsa. although alot of vls had mix and matched parts (leftovers)

I agree totally with EcotechManiac. I had the same prob with my vl and it turned out to be the positive terminal was loose. Make sure ur terminals are absolutely clean (a bit of wet&dry sandpaper works miracles) Use on the posts and inside the clamps and make sure both are done up tight. Then cross fingers and turn key. Good luck!
