Ive now had 2 VL stop light switches that failed after about 1 years use, both were supplied bt Tridon, Silverwater, NSW
very annoying as the VL brelina gives you no warning of the failure
any one else had a similar problem, the switch itself has nothing written on it, I wonder if any other makes of switches are available
ps for daytime driving the parking lights can substitute, more or less![]()
interesting maybe your getting a momentary short and it is eventually frying the switch without blowing the fuse....
hadnt thought of that, is there anything I can do?
check your fuses and c if somebody has not used a higher amp fuse.
have u got a multimeter?
I had to replace mine, i had had the car for a year and a half though, replaced it with one from a wreck and it's still working fine. parking lights can't act as brake ligths thou ?
thanks everyone, will check fuse, no multimeter
I put parking lights on when braking, better than nothing
fix it asap man... go to an auto Elec and rectify the problem.. he might say whats the cause and u fix it
could b a few things, Bad earth somewhere., Crappy cheap switch to begin with... poor wiring/faulty loom
nath is right, FIX IT ASAP (parkers DO NOT substitute brake lights) or it will come back to bite you in the @r$e, by way of defect or accident.
at your original post do you use the brake to often and wearing the switch out, or are you driving with 2 RIGHT FEET.
Nobody wants to play with me
