5.7 vl ????

hey ppls. has anyone seen pics or other proof of a chev 5.7 ls1 being put into a vl/vk?

nah.... seen every up to 5ltr. havnt seen anything new than ls1. wouldnt mind seeing something about it either.... its a conversion im looking to do but want the newest v8 i can get hold of to make the work worthwhile...

what the size of the latest chevy engine? 7ltrs or something. I was looking and theres a wrecker in the US Michigan i think who can send reco chev engines(most with under 60,000miles) anywhere in the world and ls1 onward engines were only about $1500-$1600 AUS +freight. Not bad. Just want to know if its gonna cost me some stupid amout to go get the engine bay totally remodelled to fit it in. :my:

It has been done gen 3 into VL it went to summernats in 2003 and won some trophy's It is a medium metallic blue VL with walky kit and calais front and rear and interior it is a nsw car reg AWSSOM

-vl turbo fuel pump
-vl turbo radiator with thermo's
-hand made custom extractors to 2 1/2 exhaust
-T56 six speed
-custon 2 piece tailshaft
-walkinshaw diff 3.08:1
-bilstein suspension
-dba slotted rotors, vx ss front calipers vl turbo rear
-vk brock interior retrimmed with scottish leather

The engine has to be mounted on a slight angle towards the passenger side due to the fact that the starter motor is on the drivers side and it has to clear the steering.

they had to move the steering slightly back.....it looks awesome with the electric blue and a walky kit.....it was in street commodores at the start of the year!!!!!

You may have trouble getting anything but a locally delivered motor registered due to emissions.

True about the emissions, but hey as far as i know country cops in Qld dont tote emissions meters like the p***s in Vic do. Scuse my french.

i have seen a blue showcar with an ls1 put in it i have pictures ill try and post a little later it had a walky kit and they just painted the plastic covers to suite the paint job looked awsome
