Bucket Seats into my VL

I have a strange feeling that I have posted a topic like this before, but I can't seem to find it using the search function, so I'll ask it and pretend I never asked it before lol.

Ok so my mate who used to have a VK gave me his old bucket seats out of it a while back, and he said they fit onto the VK's rails and would fit onto the VL's rails without any dramas, BUT, from what I have read somewhere, you need a mod plate when installing other seats into cars UNLESS they bolt straight onto the stock rails without needing to be modified. So, in theory my buckets should be fine to put into the VL (I was going to put seat covers over them anyway otherwise my car will get stolen for the seats lol) or has anyone had issues with the cops about buckets etc? Can I get away with the whole "They were in there when I bought it?" excuse?

Cheers. Just that I am taking them out of my (sorry guys, F word here) Ford Courier and i'm going to sell it so I figured i'd throw some dodgy seats into the Courier and use the buckets in either my drivers side, or both, for the VL.

wow!!!!!! your terminology is confusing man, have you had a couple of beers or what? I have,............. so maybe it is just me!
anyway, there are two types of seats for any car and they are BUCKET SEATS (2 single seats for the front of a vehicle) AND BENCH SEATS ( one long seat for the front of the vehicle, sometimes it is split for a 2 + driver seat.)
most bucket seats will fit other vehicle rails with very little to no modifications.

LOL yeah sorry I sort of went a bit crazy with that comment. What I mean is, is it illegal to install bucket seats into my VL if the seats I have don't require any modification to the rails.
