Sexy engine note?

The thread "Removing a muffler (Straight through) Started by 87RB30VL" got me thinking.
What have you guys done to your VLs to make them sound delicious? Possibly link a youtube video to let us all hear it if you have one?

Talk to an exhuast shop... or get a bigass drill and go nuts making holes until you get the sound you want.

It all depends on the driver's definition of sexy. To me, sexy is my mate's XB Coupe with a 351 & an exhaust that stops where your doors are, whereas to other people sexy could be a lowered Skyline with a milo tin exhaust.
My headers made my car sound a bit more tough, and I like tough sounding VL's haha so that's sexy in my opinion. Mine also sounds delicious, though a turbo would probably be the cherry on my cake of ... uhh ... I can't finish that off haha

haha well said. yeah im looking for a low down, grunty sound.
im thinking about taking it to dandenong exhausts but i thought id just get an idea of how you guys have gone about doing yours.

I guess like what Jats & Wraith said on my other post, straight through would be the way to go but only if it still stays within the legal noise bracket.
Maybe headers, high flow cat & a 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" catback would sound alright. I'm not sure how big you'd want to go on an NA, maybe 2 1/4 most, but I guess that would sound pretty decent

dont go over 2.5" then u will start losing power. go with a 2 1/4" straight through then have a turbo tip the sound bounces of the road and enhances the noise a tad(did when i put one on :P) or drop a 304 in it and then u got a nice note

sorry mate, thought it was a turbo.
you loose it off the line but you pick a fair bit back up again in top end
i actually got an exhaust a few days ago just from the cat was a redback couldnt ask for the noise to be any better since my car is completely stock. i can put a vid up on youtube i guess....was only 260$$$ so im not complaining :P

my brother inlaws n/a vl had a 3in with no mufflers it actually sounded great and wasn't overly loud
