Hi Guys,
Just adjusted my kickdown switch as my trans was kicking down way too late. Now when l slightly press the accelerator it kicks down and loving it as its way more responsive.
Before it would climb slowy over the rev range and nearly press the pedal all the way to the floor than kickdown... that is solved now!
My question is because my trans is kicking down alot earlier now would that be harmful in anyways for the transmission? (e.g trans overheating, bands worning out earlier etc)?
thanks in advance.
in what car mate?

soz mate, vlt.
vl's have a kick down solenoid mounted on the side of the trans which is computer controlled, what did you adjust?
I can not see it causing any problems in the future as by the sounds of it you have only changed the shift pattern not the way it shifts (mechanically),
it will have an effect on your fuel consumption, but I am guessing with a VLT you are not to worried about that. so all should be good.![]()

Would this benefit an NA VL at all? I have an auto also

There is a adjustable switch under dash near the pedal.
I wouldn't think adjusting the switch to activate the kickdown to come on earlier would be a concern for the trans?

Throttle position switch.
you have just changed the position of the accelerator pedal switch and it has adjusted the the signals your engine management system (ecu) is receiving which is why your trans is changing differently, either way you will not cause any harm to your trans.
