Hi Guys,
my vlt trans is always hitting the rev limiter, how do l solve this problem? can l manually adjust it or does it have to be done in a tune.
it is a vl turbo, with modified trans, stock ecu.
thanks in advance.
I'm assuming it's an auto? Have you tried gradually accelerating and seeing if it changes gear earlier? My VL NA stock trans changes gear pretty well when I floor it, personally I would like a bit more revs per change but it does well I guess. Apart from that, I wouldn't know too much about trannys so maybe someone else can help (apart from Taiwanese trannys, yeeech)

it will stop bouncing if l let go of the pedal for 2 secs but for drags every second makes a difference at calder 1/4 mile drags. getting annoyed.
dont u mean your motor hitting the limiter... trans wont hit a limiter.. unless its changing way to late and your bouncing of the rev limiter... i would think possibly low trans fluid causing it to rev hi and change as the pressure gets up in the trans which is in your case red line
soz, engine hitting limiter, fluid was overfull as it was coming out of the overflow hose on top of transmission. Disconnected the cooler line and dropped some fluid out but still hitting the limiter. If l put a stage 3 shift kit would that help? how can the gears change earlier?
did you check the tranny oil?

yeah stage 3 (fully manualised) shift kit will fix it, but you will have to manual shift into every gear, even down shift, alot of places dont like doing them, no matter what speed you are doing if you select 1st, it WILL go into 1st, same with reverse
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
l think l will get a fully manualised stage 3 valve body better to handle more boost and no rev limiter problem.
spend the cash on a manual, with a heavy duty clutch... more fun, more poke, imo
but i would think u have done some damage possibly burnt some clutches.. woooopsie...
trans changing at such high rpm your clutches would be getting fried... maybe not but i rekon so
