i have a 1987 vl sl and when i bought the car the interior light didn't have a bulb in it so i had bought one today but when i put the bulb in the light won't turn off at all...is there some sort of switch or something? any info would be great cheers.
yeah the earth swith at the doors man.. u may need to go over them and check which one is not unearthing properly.. i had this problem and was easily rectified
or the switch which is on the dash dimmer on the right hand side of the steering wheel. check its not all the way up
turns out it was the dimmer being all the way up. cheers for the help was much appreciated![]()
dimmer being all the way up = Turn on interior light :P

in a VL if you push the dimmer switch all the way up (until it clicks) that is the interior light switch.
in a VK you pull the headlight switch out.

Mine hasnt had a bulb in it for 5 years because of this reason. Where can i find the earth wires on the doors?

the little door switches is the earth switches so on the back of the switch is the earth wire and when its open (door open) its earthed to the body hence the light working (Always a positive at the bolb) so u earth it out once the door is closed it breaks the connection to the earth a (momentary switch)
Yeh checked it out and one of thd doors is missing the switch so id say thats the problem
