Help a noob out

hi ive been hearing alot about cold air induction setup and am not sure how to go about it????? can someone give me a guide , and also is it worth putting a K&N panel filter in my standard air box without doing anything else??
any advice would be appreciated

The filter will make a difference i got a BMC panel in my VS with a CAI i used to have a VL with a 2.5" and a filter, the filter did help.
But.. the VL Bonet shuts tight so the CAI wont really work or get any air

But...
if you want to do it the other way you can throw in a panel filter and get a 3" slinky hose from autobarn or someware and put one end into the side of your air box and the other behind the vent slits in the front bumper. this a fairly cheep way to go but will still go good as it will be getting cold air and being behind the bumper with the slits it will be protected and shouldn't be to hard to mount
