Hi guys, ive bought a VL, i have installed a Calais front on it, looks great.
Now the loom coming off the pop-up motor is sitting there with no where to plug in. I cant see anywhere that is. Been told the Calais loom is different to a series 2 VL, which is what I suspected anyway.
Should i tap into the loom??if so can anyone explain how, or should i just hook it up to a switch in the ****pit and give them a flick at night.
-OR-
is there a plug i cant see just begging to be pluged in??
thanks in advance

i always thought the plug was there. if not just hook a relay so they come on with your high beams, or low, whatever ever floats your individual boat.
alot of calais dont work anyway so dont stress if they done open, although it might get you a defect.
my s2 has a plug behind the light, its not hooked up to anything and its a narrow rectangular item. do you have them? that might be it. (unsure)
if you dont mind me asking, out of interest what did you pay for the popup setup?
I'm just getting it re-run into the low beams. I got mine for 400..
where abouts did ya get it? just a wrecked calais? im after the same sorta thing. was it easy to put on?
Wreckers are putting it on for me, I don't think it'd be that hard to bolt up but I haven't had a good look at it. I got it from a guy selling it - not sure why he was selling but yeah, the usual going price is getting up towards 800 dollars.
They just bolt straight on.
yeah i have even seen them around here going for up to 1500. thats alooooot!
wish i could get some for 400.... would encourage me to get the respray done.
Would you settle for a fibreglass copy? It wouldn't do the flip if thats something you care about.
how much is the fibre glass copy? the flip dont really tickle my fanny
flip doesnt tickle my fanny either but here in vic the fibreglass bit can catch a defect. something about impeding high beam....
fibremaster used to do them for 400.... still do??
Yeah 400 still as far as I know, unpainted.
my popups came with the car, he just nvr put them on. they were painted also. easy to install. unbolt the top panel. this panel has 2 bolts each side joining the frnt guards, so take out the light to get to them. to take lights out i took off front bar and bar moulds(prolly didnt have too). calais panel sits flush back on, redo bolts and fit bar back on. lightly tighten screws for the popup panels & center panel (with badge), make sure they are spaced out evenly, retighten. plug in loom from popup motor if u have a plug for it.
I'll have another look but i dont think its there.
i was guna get a copy but then wrote my vl off, $50 off gf's brothers mate
