debating weater to put a stereo in.
if i did id be putting
-2x kicker 12 inc subs in ported box
and one set of splits in the rear parcel shelf.
thats it for now, just not keen in having too much rattles.
and when you have your subs going hard does your head lights dim?

I havnt got a vl but I know a mate who had one and had a 15" kicker solo-baric sub (square one) and a box that coulda fot two! Didnt hear any rattles from his but most rattles should be fixable.
As for the headlights im currently running two 300 continuous output subs and two 500wrms amps and have headlight issues when its loud. I think it depends on how much power ur usin. Like ive got a 2g cable powerin it but a 4g shouldnt be a problem, so probs somewhere around 700w ull find issues with headlights.
Tho in dayin that I have heard that u can upgrade ur negative/earth wiring under the hood to counter balance it possibly?
Does this help?
I had two mtx 10's powered by an alpine amp. I cant remember the specifiactions, but it went pretty fkn hard. I didnt have any trouble with lights dimming, when the car was turned off my interior light would sometimes pulse with the subs, lol. But when it was running i had no worries. I did have a very very big battery though. if that makes any differance
thanks guys. i suppose a capacitor should fix the head lights dimming though.
i dont want to be running around my car fixing every little rattle and vibration, i just got my sub and amp for the vl.
need to get a new head unit though, im still using the stock head unit haha.

I don't have 2 subs but I have a single 12 inch Rampage sub in my boot, and the only thing that rattles is my garnish, but if I push on it, it stops rattling, so maybe if yours rattles with a sub, look into taking it off and putting foam of some type behind it, then screwing it back on. I am going to try this in the next few days. Apart from that nothing else rattles, and my speakers aren't even screwed into the parcel shelf lol and they don't rattle

OK clarification time. 1. Splits in rear are fairly pointless. 2. IF you run into vibration issues dynamat or something similar will help. 3. A capacitor will not stop the lights dimming it's a band-aid solution. 4. Ensure the amp is properly grounded for a start.

I had a boot that rattled, the skin had come off the frame. Nothing half a tube of sikaflex couldnt fix though![]()
yeh i got 3x 12" subs and had a few rattles... as stated above u can use that space invader as well spray it in the frame... rear bumper/trims have a rattle which can b fixed and the number plate rattles on the bumper... fixed as well... lights dont dim
I have a vl with 2x 12 inch sub in the rear 6x9 in the parcel shelf and 4inch splits in the front and 2 amps . Also put dyno Matt throughout the main cabbin. No rattles even when its up lould. It really depends on how u set up the use of ur system. If u turn the base up to its peek things will eventually rattel. As for the dimming lights. A capactor is a good investment. As long as its close to the amps

capacitors arent needed...
i run 1500wrms just in my subs...and i get no dimming or anything..
have good wiring and a decent battery..optima yellow top deep cycle d34 will do the job..
and you should be fine...if i dont have lights dimming you shouldnt.
ps i also run all interior neons and the still no dimming.
