Got an rb 30 with full turbo conversion in a 280z. Had it dynoed to see eat power it put out. It's got standard turbo ecu, injectors, turbo manifold, turbo, and the guy said the fuel map was off the chart wen dynoed. They thought it was fuel reg. Fixed. Bigger fuel pump indtalled and still can't fix it just runs real rich and dont know y
blocked air filter...?
oxy sensor failing...?
or coolant temp sensor failing...?
Sooooo that would make the fuel real high on the chart.
well blocked filter starves the engine of air.. meaning rich
coolant temp sensor failing = engine ecu thinking the motor is still cold and runs a rich mixture..
o2 sensor failing = Ecu trying to measure hot or cold measurements and uses this information in closed loop to run a lean or rich mixture,..(fine tuning)
Being a MAF based system a blocked air filter should have less effect. Is it only rich under power? If idle, cruise and cold start are OK. If its rich everywhere then yeah, coolant temp sensor, high fuel pressure (non-genuine reg setting or faulty) Have you made any mods? Intercooler? Where is the MAF, stock location. If the MAF is in the stock draw through location and there is a boost leak it will go very rich. You can tune the Factory ECU with Nistune if there are no other issues to be found.
