vl manual to auto. trans

i'm changing my 5 speed manual transmission to 4 speed jatco auto. i went to the wreckers for all the bits but was'nt sure if i have to change the wiring loom.i guess it's a big job to do this.has anybody done this and do i have to strip the dash out.i have the use of a mechanics hoist so the change over of the box etc won't be a problem but the loom change over looks like a pain.Mecha

everyone has their reasons, maybe the guy lost an arm or leg and needs to go auto (hey its a longshot!!!)

i dont believe you have to change the loom, i think you have to change the computer though to one from a manual car. dont quote me. there are posts about this somewhere, do a search and see what comes up.
