im thinking by thursday im going to have something along the line sof $1600

i need to put it into the car!! =)


1.

i got quotes on a sound system=)

2x520Wrms amps = $400
3x250Wrms subs 12" = $528
and the rca's and wore thrown in.

couple of hundred to play aorund with after and also sell my existing amp and sub.


2.
paint the car.
currently i have no quotes on this and there isnt exactly a local panel beater that is good. country area im stuck with only one in the town and i dunno how good it would be, i was told the painter out there is sposed to be awesome! but he is also drug lord.

i was told i could prob get rust if there is any cut out and then also painted and maybe window seals replaced. for like $1500 but i have no idea...

i kind of want it painted as it is flaking the clear coat! and im worried about rust.

3.

buy rims?? huge rims!! lol.. 19's? 18's?
i dunno.... but only thing with this is got some old rims with brand new like tyres and i dont want to be losing out with the money situation toooooo much!

4.
turbo....
now we all want one and i have done a fair amount of homework on it and i could quite possibly build my self a turbo...

i cant drive it for atleast 10 months!! as nsw laws now swallow!!
but yeh.... stick it in the shed and play around for 10months it will end up very shinny and a couple of extra doller would be able to go into it! aswell as like, bigger breaks maybe on the car.


5. buy allll new plastic chrome strips around doors and the silver at the bottom as there are little cracks in them in some places although you can bairly see it i can!!

1. sounds alot for the subs, and not enough for the amps. sounds like it might not work out.
2. drug lord might do a good job. might not. thats why you check out some previous work. 1500 wont get the best job you can get. better the spend more and get a brilliant job in a sensational colour.
3. you say you live in the sticks? steer away from bigger rims. country roads will mince thin tyres. the ones you have look good.
4. could be done, sounds like you have other things than want doing first. i assume you want bigger BRAKES and not breaks lol. you would wanna do the stoppers before the snail.
5. wouldnt cost 1600, maybe 150. worth it, but would be better done when you do a respray, then you can just colour code all at once rather than match the silver (its not chrome im afraid).

so im not much help. dont like telling people how to spend their money. if you can afford to have it off the road start doing it all and wait til the money is there to paint and turbo. or do something totally different and surprise everyone!!!

dude if you didnt want honest feedback why did you ask? i made completely valid points and you destroyed them all. i guess bex said the same thing simpler.

i was making a correlation between the cost of subs compared to amps. i feel the amps are underpriced in accordance with the subs and may not be the right match, only making that assumption based on cost though! nothing more technical than that.

My loan account was sitting on around 2k, but through loan payments its dropped to about 1.. But now I'm going to start putting 100 dollars back in each week. And you know why thats good. Because I can't log onto netbank, and my old girl has hid the card for me, because I told her to do it so I could save. I still have my other account though that cops a punishing, but I know 100 of my pay each week goes into that. It's only 5k a year. But still

i got quotes all the calais peices like all silver bumpers with the little skirts above them $260 and prob $300 to paint them or something stupid like that. and then hopefully have enough money to buy a steering rack and then sell the that are on it now and get slaughtered atleast twice.... =D

You can get brand new 18" wheels and tyres for $1550 from bob jane it is one of the packages they do (its actually $1350 but by the time they're fitted balanced and full alignment done and locknuts it comes to $1550)
