The old one was a 575 but now the new (second hand) one i scored is a 58
Will this be ok?
I havent hooked up the stereo yet, which i think may be heavy consumer on the battery
Any way to stop stereos from being battery guzzlers??
57 is the correct battery for a vl, 58 is used from vt onwards and the terminals are opposite...
so what u reckon, will this cause a melt down or will it be ok
could ultimately enhance performance, surely theyre wouldnt be too much difference
the wreckers guy seemed to be happy it would work in a VL (with a 2 week warranty)
for 40 bucks so far so good
it will work fine, and a wrecker will tell you anything 'cos he is making a sale.

Why would you bother getting a used battery?

sometimes a bread crum means so much to one familyWhy would you bother getting a used battery?
^^^ Exactly
go get one from supercheap/autobarm/auto1/kmart/Big W of the like and get a new one... don't b tight.. and u get a 12month warranty.. Win Win dont go second hand, as long as it starts your car then run the stereo off the alternator..
I have been through this myself and been stung getting cheap. It's not as simple as yeah she will be right she's clean.

lol chill lads, i know i agree, just not in the big bucks at present as its quick fix or no fix.
thanks for recommends though
got rego out the way, now a battery in it, its the brakes warning light issue now. (see other post topic)
but if any other techie issue having a 58 battery instead of a 575 may cause issue let me know cheers guys.
it's time to start saving, as most of us do, for the four parts you buy from the wrecker that only last a month you could have brought brand new with a warranty and have money left over for something else, and the the new parts will last 5-10yrs.
believe me I know times are tough, but do it once and have a reliable car or worry about when something is going to leave you and your family stranded at the most inconvenient time.
this battery type is fine, infact it is overkill, but it will not cause you any technical faults, just consider how long it will last and where you will buy your next one.
edit: we just don't want you to get a bad opinion of the VL because yours keeps breaking down.

i think the only differance is terminal posts? But yeah 57 and 67 for a vl to vx. They are like 130 brand new? I wouldn't even bother getting a second hand one, your probly going to have more problems with it
