hey guys im in the process of replacing my current vl tank for a long range tank out of a vr but i need to know where i can pick up a new breather line.its the larger one that go's from the tank and through the chassis rail and connects to the filler.i tried to reuse the vl one but it was a different size and was cracked in some spots
go to any car accessories shop and get a piece man
auto 1, auto bahn, repco, carbitz, cmon man use that noggin
im gonna say ive been to two different places and both couldn't help me.and i dont know if this is standard but the original hose that came out of it is plastic nylon tubing
use a rubber hose of the same diameter
its a breather man, don't matter what its made of as long as the tank can breathe.
i just spoke to a mate and you said i might beable to get the right hose from holden and meant to be very cheap to
fuel hose
"Its a Breather" only vapour.......
ur words in "heater hose" i never stated that.
yes i used heater hose as an example of a " RUBBER HOSE "
being a breather hose does matter as the fuel vapour can still effect the hose if its not of the right grade or construction for the job , years of converting cars to LPG and repairing cars seen incorrect use of hose's so many times which leads to failure of engines transmission diffs power steering pumps and racks etc etc .
strgas the plastic line that was in my car is that factory ??? .
plastic is factory cheap to produce goes hard after years thou and becomes rather brittle easy to break recommend replacing with hydrocarbon proof hose , if your plastic hose is in ok condition you can cut it in the middle and extend it with a piece of metal pipe
thats fair enough man,
but anything that will not deteriorate will be sufficient thus using fuel hose.
i know that all hoses are different as in oil safe/fuel safe/pressure rating, etc etc
not using trans hose for a fuel line etc.
rang holden this morning and there stil sell the breather hose cost a whopping $3.85
