u afta an alarm? i paid 150 for an alarm, 6 door sensors, immobiliser, 6 tone siren, panic alarm, etc... an extra 50 n u can get central locking too... thats at strathfield..
hav u looked on the passenger side? for the alarm? is there a flashing led somewhere on your dash? if so jus follow the wires...
I wonder what those scales on the top right side of my posts do...

hey, so hard to read what you're typing there, anyway, what things does your car do that makes it have an alarm? as it sounds like you only have a flashing led hooked up to make people think theres an alarm. the places you have suggested are the usual spots for an alarm to be placed, only other places i can think of are maybe behind door trims, lok for a mass of wires coming from the grommets in one door, or hidden up literally under the dash, which will require removing the dash completely to get at it.

nah, they usually remove the wiring aswell, because different alarms have different wiring setups.

dude re read what youre saying it might make it easier to reply in the first place.

VLs didnt come with an alarm standard did they? meaning it could be anywhere the installer chose to put it. i know where i put mine, but no doubt itll be different to yours.

if its been a 'snip job' then it obviousely wasnt working properly, that tells you straight away that it would be better to get all new gear and wire from scratch.
youll know if extra wires are in places like under the dash because they wont be part of the main looms.
when you put the new one in youll most likely find the redundant stuff left behind.

seriousely will take you less than half a day to put it in yourself, then youll know exactly whats in there.

alarms were an option on the VL's the headlights and brake lights flashed and they also had a siren that sat near the wiper motor

the light they had on the dash was fairly big red (i think) button that flashed and when you press it that triggers the alarm ive seen a few standard VL's with this option one of them has been in my mates family since new. its a Berlina and has a few other things that were standard from factory and i havnt seen on other VL's especially around the centre console theres another kind of tray in it and dash is a bit different
