no idea, i know what a few of my mates did to their ricers (lancer, seca and a swift) went to super cheap.. bought neons and mounted them under the sills of the doors the front bar and rear bar... they ran the wires together to a switch and then the battery

it wouldnt really glow enough to be seen if it was directly under the center of the car (gearbox) and im not sure about the heat generated by the gearbox aswell, automatics do get very hot and you got a catalytic converter there as well which gets to a temperature of... im not sure what but ive burnt my hand on them many times.

One wouldnt be enough though... it shouldnt cost you too much afterall supercheap is... super cheap!

I used PC (computer lighting) tubes and it works great and is water proof and clearly visible, I need a walky front bar tho coz u can see the tubes from the side sometimes.

here is the link My undercar neons not getting enough power

just a question, why dont you just buy under car neons, something like 150 for 1 side neon?
Hope if your putting them on your car its not a dead stock vl with neons...

What sorta light fitting you looking at, no imitation light will look better than original underbody neons, and i'd probably say you'd need an inverter too, to convert a 240v fitting to 12v (not exactly cheap). If it was to work without one it'd probably have a duller glow.

If u want to bodge up some lights under the car y don't you try solar lights, no inverter, no wiring, no worries

I wouldn't imagine anyone doing it, i temp. put some under just to see how it'd look. Not too bad nice big white spotlights in the front corners (2min job). Just get the ones with moveable solar panels and have em sitting outside the car, maybe a little bit of wiring but if ur desperate enough u'd try it. But i can't see ne1 desperate enough to do it.

I have seen cars with solar panels on the rear window shelf.........don't know what they powered, but they were wired to something......

From what I've heard LED lighting doesn't seem to have an equal spread / glow as much as a neon does. And they look tackier - if its possible.

But I'm sure you could avoid the clustering and disperse it better?

i have aun nudercar kit sitting in my room somewhere one is craked.
but undecar neons are the best way and if u have no skirts and wanna hide the bar then use an L shaped peice of aluminium to lip over them . u can get it in black. and the neons do look dull in the day time compared to night even though their under ur car. uv light is allot stronger.
i dont see many vls with undercar neons but if u i like it do it its your car

i got a neon the other day from autobahn.. its got a little computer with a sensivity switch and mode choices.. so it dances to the music... its on my back parcel shelf..
whoever it was that originally started this thread.. normal lights will work but not well and will most probz break.. best off going to autobahn n gettin good ones.. if u get normal ones then hook em up to your parking lights.. not your battery.. if u get dancing ones.. good luck in getting em to work properly if u have an exhaust.. lol
I wonder what those scales on the top right side of my posts do...
