    that poor kid.
Why do assholes need to steal a nice car, trash it and dump it? I reckon those caught should suffer the same damage as inflicted on the car they stole and trashed!

i purchased a vl parts car nearby to me on the central coast that was in a similar predicament.
I rang the police and informed them i spotted the vehicle. Gave the details of vehicle (officer asked for rego label info) left my details with them.
Police chased up last rego'd owner who then rang me and said "car's yours"
Cop's then rang me back to confirm details and I was allowed to tow it home.

In this kid's case, You should ring your local police station and report the vehicle and explain that it looks to be a bit of a heart breaker for this L plater. The boy's in blue are usually the last to find stolen cars as they dont have time to wander up and down every street looking. They rely on decent common folk like u and I to ring them up and tell them what you've found.

I saw a car dumped near the freeway near my work, and day 1 it was there, days 2 and 3 it looked pretty normal, I was thinking of checking it out, but didn't report it as it was on a main road and dozens of cops travel to the police station near there each day, day 4 it had a smashed drivers window, day 5 it was up on bricks, when I came back to work on the monday (day 8) it was gone.

When we lived in sydney, some hoons had stolen a car and were hooning up our street, and for 5 hours, my dad and I stayed up, ringing the police every 5 minutes, watching these guys rape this poor guy's car, until they eventually got it bogged on the grass for a good hour, and all the while the police said they were on their way. We watched the hoons burn the car, and when the police and fire brigade came, it was already a black mess. And then the cops had the balls to threaten my dad with jail time if he "interfered" because he was telling the owner what we had saw, and the owner was not happy at all. Just shows cops dont give a shit about a stolen car, there's too much hassle in it for them & they could be out making $130 for a defect notice rather than no money and more paperwork for a stolen car.
