Ok so the other day, after finally getting my VL back on the road after about 6 days of sitting in my driveway, I noticed that my fuel pump primed upon turning the ignition on, but just kept making the "whiiirrrrrrrr" noise. I turned the ignition off, and back on, and it primed and stopped like normal. That afternoon, I took her in to get the cylinders in the drums replaced, and when I turned her on, the fuel pump was constantly going "whiiiirrrrCLICKwhiiirrrrCLICKwhiiiiiiirrrrCLI CK" but the car starts and runs fine.
I had a new fuel pump put in not too long ago, probably a few months, so it's not like it would be my pump?
Any ideas? I don't like the fact that the pump keeps running when my ignition is on, where is that fuel pumping to? I have no leaks as far as I can see from looking under the car for spots etc and my fuel has stayed up since I filled her up the other day.

Check that the regulator on the fuel rail isn't buggered...Sounds like its just feeding straight back to the tank
I'll have to have a squiz tomorrow, would it be doing any major damage if the regulator is stuffed?

No not really... Just relace it.. I dont think they cost much... Mind you, I have never bought ove for a VL.. Id think under $20?
yeah man sounds like its not pressuring hence constant priming,
i would think its the reg as well(leaking past the diaphragm and not holding pressure.)
Are the VL regulators located in the tank? Or are they in the engine bay? I can't remember seeing one under my hood, though I could have overlooked it. I think my brothers is in his engine bay of his BMW and it stands out like a sore thumb but I haven't seen anything like it in my bay.

its held in with 3 Phillips head bolts man and only can get at them with the top plenum removed...
before actually knowing if this is the problem try another reg hooked up first. the changeover you will need the plenum gasket(between plenum/runners)
