How much should i sell the turbo stuff for?
G'day guys,
I've bought a VL for my son who is about to get his P-plates. It's a good solid car, but unfortunately has all this Pssstttt stuff on it.
So..... what would be a fair price for a complete turbo set up, with intercooler? [everything needed to turbo a VL]
It's all still in the car & runs very well.
Everything including
Turbo
Manifold
Dump pipe
Front pipe
Oil lines
Injectors
ECU
Intercooler
Piping
What sort of turbo / condition is everything in? Could be looking $1000 - $1400 if you write up a good ad.

i would keep the bits man untill he can put it back on and more incentive for him to Look after his car... with a reward at the end...
one thing if its an original A8 block(turbo block) it will run, but be slugish as it is low compresssion...without the gear on it.. so may be something to concider as well
if its an A6 block that is a highcomp engine it will run better as it designed for no turbo gear...

Pretty much have to agree. I've researched enough about turbo to non turbo to know that if you have a turbo car, keep it turbo & make do till' he gets off his P's, otherwise you'll be in for a world of trouble

AFAIK the engine is a RB30 which has been turbo'd, not an RB30ET. What's been done to the inside is anybodys guess, but the donk has been pulled at some point.
The other option is to fit a stock RB30 [which i have], & sell off the complete engine. I really don't want another bloody engine to trip over in the shed! lol

u could go option 2 with the rb30e.. if u can be bothered,
Is it an A8 block.. check the engine number on the cold side of the engine on the machined piece (right of the oil filter,then u will know for sure if its a knock up)

Engine is a factory ET block.
It's going into storage & i will refit a stock RB30.
