Default Vl leaking in passenger foot well

My VL has started leaking in this area. The window has been removed and rust has been professionally cut out. This was done awhile ago.
When I pour water down the wiper well drain at the end it enters the car somehow. Does anybody know if there are any rubber grommets in that area (aerial maybe?) May have to take the dash apart to find it at this stage. Any help appreciated.

I would recommend getting someone to sit in the car and turn the hose on the seals, one at a time. Try the door and window seals. Then Any rubber grommets on the firewall too. Presuming its rain. Otherwise it could be your heater pipes are rusted and it's your coolant.

Hi, thanks. It definitely only happens when it rains. I have reached my hand up past the ecu (ecu removed) and can feel it coming in but just cant reach high enough to localize it. It dribbles down the right hand side of the ecu.

My VL leaks in the drivers side footwell HEAPS, like, if my VL is on a hill facing forward (Rear end in the air), if it rains it 99% will have a pool of water in the drivers footwell in the corner closest to the door, it's as deep as a section of my finger when I dip my finger in it. I replaced all my bailey channels on the 2 front doors but I'm fairly sure it still does it, hasn't rained enough for me to notice yet though. I have no rust on my front window, either.

I was wondering the same thing with the aerial or something in the firewall letting the water in cos' there's no signs of it leaking through the windows.

I'm pretty sure I have narrowed it down to the drain in the wiper well. so its not anything in the well. I can squirt water through the drain hole and it comes inside. I think ill take out the glove compartment and speaker case and see if I can spot it. Ill also check the grommet that aerial cords go through. Yeah 87rb30VL I'm the same when rains, its gets deep fast. Its cause the water goes straight through the bonnets top grill into the well and then drains out like it should, but from there its a mystery.

Thanks for heads up on the ECU, sometime told me once to wrap it in a bag because its a common problem.

I found my leak if your interested. It was a broken seal just above the ECU and aerial module. I can put up some pics if you like. Took out most of my dash just to get enough room to find it. The glove compartment support is like the last piece you can remove (typical, took about an hour with the max ellery book.) Havent put it back together yet. Going to re-seal it tomorrow.

Pics are always awesome with things like this! Great news you found the leak, maybe I can finally sort mine out too! Yeah I heard ECU's can get wet really easily too but never heard of the wrapping it in a bag lol

if you are going to wrap it use a good quality bag like you get from a department store not the crap u get from the supermarket/petrol station they break down to quickly.

OP make sure you leave some excess antenna cable in the guard so it loops down below the seal hole you are repairing, water will drip off the bottom of the loop and not run down into the cab along the cable.

Under the front guards near the windscreen just where the inner guard and panel where the wiper motor sit are spotwelded there is type of sealer that dries out over time and cracks and shrinks letting water into the footwell.
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
