rattle from the rear

my vl all of a sudden developed and light rattle, sort of a buzz from the rear of the car.
could this be my fuel pump?
when i knock the tank it stops it for that split second but starts again straight after.

buzzing fuel pump... mine been doing it for years.... Stereo up, Problem solved

could also be worn or broken exhaust hangers causing the rear muffler/resinator to rattle on the side of the fuel tank.

My exhaust was rubbing on the rear of my car cos' one of the rubbers that holds it up had snapped. Piece of wire solved that problem. Also, my fuel pump whines like a bitch so don't worry about it, and I just recently got a brand spanker fitted so they all do it.

On a side note, mine makes a different sound when my fuel's low, like a more irritated buzz haha, so if you're low on fuel, expect it to sound wierd

if youve been running the car on below 1/4 tank of fuel too often it will do this to the fuel pump

mine did the normal buzz, it suddenly got louder and popped 10kms down the road. if in doubt just replace it

the pump needs fuel to lubricate it in VLs so if your tanks running low it will run rough hence the rougher buzzing sounds

no it aint just the fuel over it deadens the actual sound of it..
like a nagging missus until u put ur head under the water in a pool.. .... or hers...
