Hi there I have a high comp vl wagon. And its sits at around 7 or 8psi till it gets high in the rev range then drops to just under 5 psi
Is this a normal thing?
Also how much boost can I safely run with the standard turbo ecu, turbo injectors and standard turbo.
Cheers
mate i think u can run around 12-15 psi dont quote me on that though.
no its not normal it should maintain your set level..
I wonder if that indicates a leak somewhere?

could be a boost leak, but it would do it at any rev's as the turbo is boosting in the low range to his set level.,, possibly the turbo is not keeping up on the demand the engine is sucking, which is weird. hence the boost drop. turbo running out of puff if u get my drift. motor is outflowing the turbo

OP, was the turbo stock & did you have issues with it previously or all of a sudden?

I'll check all the vacuum lines for leaks. There isn't an intercooler. It's a standard set up and it's always done it.
Like Nath said maybe the turbo is on it's way out, I'm not too familiar with turbo's though

id say 12 psi is maxing out, best putting it on the dyno. And me thinks u got a dodgey boost control.
