Just picked up an 87 Limited Edition SL Sedan with the original and individually numbered key ring and books. This car was one owner and garaged and travelled only 98,505 ks.
It was owned by an 86 year old fella and the passenger seats have never been sat on. It hasn't been driven for the last 5 years but is running beautiful now. It has a few minor marks in the paint work. Other than that it is completely original and immaculate ie: hub caps radio, carpet etc.
Any ideas on what it would be worth and also should I keep it original? Do I touch up the paint work or leave it? Any ideas what i do with this car?
^^^ what he said ^^^
it may be worth a few grand more than what they are going for now, but im sure some VL experts can help out more on the worth side
4-5 k...... but leave it till she is a classic.... only a few years to go Lols
Will put a photo on as soon as I work out how.
Anyway. Won't be modifying. More interested in whether I should fix the odd scratch? If I do then it's not original.
Is it 6 cyl or 5 litre?
Is it Dealer LTD or Opera House LTD?
Lift the passenger carpet and see if the Build Sheet is there.
It may or may not have Limited Edition printed on the Build Sheet.

Steel price are down a bit lately. Scrappies are paying under $200 a ton these daysI guess that makes it worth around $275 on a good day. I wouldn't bother with the scratch. The scrappies aren't phased about paint quality.
Reaper
Don't mind Reaper, he's on his period this week.

Same fella gave me a 1975 Yamaha YZ 250 with the steel tank. It looks like it has never been ridden. Amazing.
