Any1 know the month and year the 1st VL`s left the production line.
After exhaustive research, I found this![]()
Holden VL Commodore - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
VL's were made from February 1986 – August 1988 in case that's too hard for you...
Oh I was looking at a VL sitting in middle of paddock and tags said it's Jan 86. Could this b wrong or one of very few that had Jan on it. Would it b worth More cause it's says Jan.
oh ok.. guess its possible? I wouldn't think it would be worth any extra though, unless it has something special and unique about it that didn't carry through to full production.
very rare but there is 1985 plated VL's so id say a jan 86 isnt out of the question

I've also heard of these 85 vl's. my guess is they were design hacks that escaped the crusher or were used as say media show off cars for wheels, motor and the like. I don't know about back then but nowadays the current model cars started their development journey something like 10 years back, even just as a sketch.
point is these cars were around being tested and produced (though not for the public) prior to 86. I've even seen photos of a vl wagon with a cut and shut widen running vn interior and mechanicals in a very old motor magazine. they obviously hed it well in the production stages by then and were getting road miles on the design hacks.
