sludged up lifters

hi i have a vl and it has very noisy lifters and i have flushed the engine once. its still pretty noisy ive been advised by a mechanic that it needs to be flushed about 2-3 times by getting the motor really hot hopefully that will free up all the crap out thats there. any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, generally if I'm doing a good oil change I do it with the car at operating drop the old stuff, fill it with cheap oil. Wait until operating temp again drop it hot and then put my new stuff in.

You could try some Nulon stuff, its generally pretty good.

But if the problem persists.. See a dr. Nah, if it keeps going it might be time to take them out and clean them up or get some new ones.

thanks for the info bextor i have tried nulon engine flush and then replaced with good quality oil and filter but have since been recomended to use fortron do you know of any difference if nulon hasnt made much difference to the noise.

try half a cup of diesel oil does an absolute wonderful job cleaning all the sludge out of engines
