    Default vl manual

    hey guys i'm lookin at doin the manual conversion i have picked up most of the parts, i have the box, clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder, ecu, still have to get tailshaft, apparently you don't need the wiring loom, am i missing anything?

    you don't need the ecu, just leave the transmission plug off. that's why you don't need the loom.

    it costs around $1100 with a reco box........but that's doin it you're self

    I picked my conversion up for 900. A bit dear for a non reconditioned conversion, considering you can find them from 400.

    But I was desperate and in a huge hurry.

    i got most of mine for $150 off a guy who didn't know any better. had to remove it all myself. I couldn't get the fly wheel off though but can get one for $50 at a wreckers. The day after i got it all i was offered $800.

    DONT FORGET TO PUT LOCTITE ON THE FLYWHEEL BOLTS!!!!! Have i made my point,do you like to be able to walk? I think the tailshaft is the same! Grab the manual wiring harness connector too! Plugs in near the brake booster. Its easier to remove the booster in this conversion.

    lol sounds like you've seen/experienced the results of what happens if you don't.... i'm not doing the conversion, seventh_path from this forum is doing it... but thanks for the advice anyway...

    Also, grab the tin plate which is riveted to the trans tunnel. You will need rivets to put the manual plate back on.
