Hello all,
I have recently bought a maron VL commodore series 2, it has done 214,000k's when i sit at idle...it has vibration it doenst have the ultra smooth idle that you get with other VL's - you can barely tell that they are on. So would anyone know why its vibrating? could it just need a service? i had a VL commodore before this one with 177,000 k's and i couldnt feel that idle at all. I have also bought another VL a red one with 172,000k's on it and i cant feel that one idle either. So what would be causing my other vl to be running with a bit of vibration? could it need a service and tune up? could it be the km's that its done but that cant be it because i have been in other VL commodores that have done more than 214,000k's and you cant feel the engine vibrating...it does have extractors on there..could that be a reason?
it won't be the extractors. have you checked you engine and transmission mounts?
hey, another friend told me to check the engine mounts, where are they located?
There is one on either side of the motor, underneath....check the tranny/ gearbox mount too.....
cheers, thanks for that ill have a look.
this is gonna sound so stupid and ur all gonna laugh and yeah but have u checked the sparkplugs i found my motor really vibrated every time a plug went out so i threw another one in and boom quite ...till another plug went although u generally notice that is happening when u rev it cause it sounds like shit but yeah![]()

just check all ur wires and that to the dizzy are connected with new plugs and all that cause u could be running on 5 cylinders and that would be makin it vibrate![]()
