    Default Oh S***, really need help!!!

    I went to pop the bonnet this morning to check fluids, and the bastrd cable snapped off! how do i get under my bonnet now? and better yet, how do i fix?

    theres enough room between bumper and radiator to put screwdriver on the latch replacement of cable/latch 12buckes from holden

    my thermo fan is in the way and the bolts that hold it on are rusted tight to the air-con

    when mine snapped i undid the two little screws that hold the little grille section in and took it out. then i could get into the latch with long-nose pliers. didnt take much.... just pull on wahtevers left of the cable. if it snapped out of the latch youll need to tinker with teh latch.

    i wonder on the later model cars what would you do if it broke, you might not be able to get to it...

    i got the bonnet up, i had to pull under my dash apart to get to the remainder of the cable, but how do i go about replacing the cable?

    Go to holden and get a new one.. Tie the new one to the end of the old one and pull on it. That'll get it through the gromet and run the path for you.

    Then just rerun it and your done.

    I snaped my throttle cable (the plastic bit with the nuts holding onto the bracket) if it makes ya feel any better.
