Hey guys,
My father and I have recently replaced the engine in my vl deciding it was easier then ripping the turbo gear off the old one (i didnt want to get rid of the turbo gear but the government hates P platers). Since replacing the engine the car refuses to fire up. The is no spark at the plugs. Weve cleaned the rotor button and dizzy cap and no moisture in crank angle sensor. Any suggestion on where to start looking for the loss of spark would be muchly appreciated. Also car has a 3TA ecu will that be a problem??
Cheers
using your old dizzy or the one that came with the engine?
power transistor, cas or a bad connection somewhere, checked fuses and relays and that you didn't bump something in the transplant?
it will run with the turbo ecu, just not very well.
i had a similar issue and turned out to be the coil good luck bud
shouldnt b the 3TA.. dont really know, But might not like running the N/A injectors as the pulse widths are different cant really mix and match.. so try a N/A ECU
as for the no sprak issue its either CAS or Coil as stated. try the CAS first though as they r tempermental bloody things.
check the Loom plug where it plugs onto the CAS plug.. pull back the rubber boot and check the crimped wires are all still intact and have not corroded or snapped of during your transplant as this is a common problem anyways
Mate did you change the wireing loom?????
Hey guys found the spark and got it running ended up being the coilthanks a lot!!
Next problem...
where does this hose go to??

yeah looks like Fuel Reg Vac line.
yep looks like reg line
its already connected there. i cant see anywhere it could connect that is close however the engine used to run on gas. could this be a left over tube from that??
have a look under the throttlebody there is a vac line there as well as near the AAC Valve is a vac line.. another is the Reg control solenoid down near the 6th cylinder intake runner near firewall. and front of Plenum near the PCV valve. have a look at the charcoal canister and trace some of the same diameter back to see if its come from around there as well

Sorry double post.
there are 2 steel tubes under the plenum next to the fuel rail, one of them doesn't have a hose on the end of it.
if you follow the hose from the fuel reg you will see where YOUR hose goes too.
it is difficult to get to and you may have to take the top of the plenum off to get to it.
