bought a vl exec 9 months ago got it for a fair price as it wasn't in that great of a mechanical condition
got it to a roadworthy state and drove it for a while as my main car required work and had it off the road.
it has no rust in the normal vl places and is straight with no signs of ever being in a bingle.
unfortunately the clear coat has peeled and faded in places so it doesn't look the best.
I'm debating doing some work to the old girl as it's almost done close to 450,000 km's
the dilema i'm having is weather i sell it as it is with minor work and get it to a roadworthy state for roughly what i payed for it
or if i replace the tired rb30 with a low k motor i have and a trans that was reco'd less than 5000 km's ago, fix and regas the ac, replace all the suspension bushes, full respray and replace the cracked rattling dash parts.
what would it be worth in the repaired state?
as it's currently only going to fetch me about $500-600 as is
what have others payed recently for a good cond stock vl?

Its not worth spending money on you can get immac ones for $2500. Just give it a good detail and sell it on ebay.

depends.
would you be happy driving an average vt around or would you rather a mint vl?
personally i wouldn't be driving a vt or newer model commodore around, don't like the shape and look of them :P
The vl was one of the best shaped commodores ever
