in some states it is i'm from wa i've put tinted headlight covers on mine but i have been pulled over for so i just take them off at night but i think if u dont make them too dark u shouldnt have any problems but in saying they do look rather awsome when u have dark tint on your windows and tinted tail lights.

Just get some headlight protectors and tint them so they can be removed at night, I don't think theres any reason why you would need headlights during the day so you should be fine there.

if ur talking about spraying them black then yes, its illegal, same goes for colour tints, it effects visibility and "could distract" people. My dad nearly hit some guy who'd put red celephane (budget tint ) over his headlights once, the fog was so bad that he had to follow the taillights of cars on the road and this dudes red headlights looked like tailights. Still, if u want cool looking headlights that are legal and will improve your visibilty, get a HID kit, they have a kind of purple/blue tinge to them. You can see them as standard on some newer cars like BMWs and such. They look sweet, and perosnally i think they look better than tinted ones. But thats just me.

there's a product called nite shades its tint in a spray can its not actually black its very dark red thats wot i used on my tail lights and head light covers and works really well u can still see at nite but cops dont like them at nite i've had a problem during the day and it turns alot of heads if u want that sort of attension i have the hid lights in for nite and do look fairly good but not the same as new bmw and monaros etc.

they do look super tough with black headlights theres no denying that, it is annoying to change them at night but thats a price you have to pay.

I honestly think they'd look stupid unless the car was black.

It could just be me but I dont think you can go wrong with brand new headlights, it just looks clean and perfect.

i rekon the headlights look better the way they are, but thats one opinion! i got some super bright halogens that change reflection differnt colours from differnt angles, they look trippy at night
