My sister and brother in law gifted me a VL commodore in working condition because the one I bought from a wrecker that was 'in working order' but was actually not, is sitting in a friends garage and they have now decided to strip her down and turn her into a drift/ burnout queen for their business.
When I received the VL she had some minor issues but they were easily sorted out. Now after a week of driving to Braidwood to instruct children on swimming the car has come home with some major issues and has now decided its not going to start at all! Looking over the manual with my father and reading other posts from this forum we have narrowed it down to a couple of things:-
*The cas needs to be replaced.
*The ignition wire is broken/ disconnected.
*The computer under the kick board in the passenger side has gotten wet. (engine sensors module)
Keeping in mind it is cranking but will not start and there appears to be no spark.
I travelled to Sydney with my car and noted to my mother and boyfriend that in the passenger seat and driver seat the floor appeared to be leaking in the heavy rain. After mentioning this to dad upon finding the problem with the car not starting we went out, I showed him where it had been leaking and dad checking where the computer is mounted then noted that beneath and around behind the kick board is damp. Could THIS be our issue? Any suggestions =\
unplug it, sit it in the sun or use a hair dryer to dry in out n see if it'll start
alternatively try another ecu to rule it out (vl or r31 skyline ecu will work)
Dad pulled the eccs out today to dry it out and then plugged it back in to see if that fixed the problem, still no go =\ He said when he undid it all it was like taking the walls out of a small fish tank. Thinking we mite have to check the igniton wire.
