alright... i had a thread somewhere sort of along the lines but i cant find it and it would be good to know the exact answers as all sorts of crap was thrown around last time!
im curious as to what skylines had what engines etc...
mainly what the rb26dett are found in? (i think its "de")
also were the rb30 that was used in skyline in 86-88 (vl's years) do they vary much compared to the rb30's made in the skylines later on! (if they were still used?)
thanks guys! =)
I CANT WALK ON WATER BUT I CAN STUMBLE ON ALCOHOL
r34 = rb26dett
r33 = rb25det
r32 = rb20det
r31 / vl = rb30et
I think some parts were altered on the VL to enable it to fit under the bonnet which was low at the front
people who have driven both care say the engine feels different
The RB26dett is found the the GTR model only, from r32 till r34.
The RB30e's were basically the same engine although there were slight differences like nissan having a taller rocker cover, and nissan mounting their motor lower in the bay. Series 3 skylines had a different auto it was a true 4 speed with very sporty (hard) shifts, and the newer auto was more frail and prone to breaking, was more expensive to replace and had allot more electronics.

the Vls RB30 is also tuned down, the R31 seems to beat VNs in speed "unconfimed" does anyone know the different outputs from the R31 series 3 vs vl?? and whay their less powerfull in our holdens?
Yeah I've seen those Stagea's they are also rb26dett but I think its only the top model that gets it but im not sure.
The S3 skyline would go better because it has a quicker auto box (you do mean the auto?) than the previous models and it was slightly more tweaked (not much probably 5kw) to compete with
the vn and others.
you could give an RB30e extra kW so easy, they have to much potential performance
