Hii! long time lurker just signed up, ummm i was hoping someone could help me make up my mind oof what i could get
I have about $3000 at the moment my last car was a sss pulsar but i'm looking for something abit more gutsy, like what is the torque like in a VL and are they faster??? what woould be a good commodore i could get for $3000, I have also driven a VR manual and found that to be slower than my sss? Thanks !![]()
a vl aint going to be any better then a v6 manual....
not many options unless you can afford a turbo model
I'm on my p's so i can't have a turbo![]()
What did your SSS pulsar have done to it? I find it hard to believe its faster than a VR commodore?
My ride-VS commo, Just finishing the manual conversion. Working out those annoying bits!
My SSS pulsar was stock but it felt like it took off alot faster and pushed through easier at lower speeds, although the VR as been thrashed and its falling apart...
Pulsar is a lot light and would rev out quicker, probably why it felt faster. Doesn't help the Vr was thrashed......

Yeah true that, what are the auto vr/vn's like and hows the torque in a VL compared to the sss?
Without a turbo or an 8, you're still going to be slow.
You can do any mod you want. But you're still not going to have anything great. Stop worrying about torque this, or power that. Just get a nice car that isnt falling apart, drive it, and save for the time when you can own a better car. Or, build a motor you can drop into it when the time comes.
