Hi guys, I just bought a vl Belina auto and it doesn't kickdown at all through any gears, can you pls help?
fluid level... kickdown solenoids on box, loom plugs on solenoids,,,
kickdown switch on throttle pedal(top of pedal) would b a start
on my donor running gear i found a vacuum hose on the passenger side of the box had a split, may as well add vacuum leak to the above list
Thanks guys will check out it tonight!
well the hose thing on the swicth above the pedel that worked awesome thanks guys , now trying to get the fuel gauge to work ,it reads 1/4 tank sometimes but then will just drop, read a bit on these and need to know how to pull the dash apart to get the cluster out, any help
could b the sender unit on the float level in the tank as well man,,,
and as u stated a dicky gauge.. which can be manipulated to work
My gearbox used to do this before I just got reconditioned. The mechanic I took it to wouldn't let me take it because part of the problem of no kick down because of the instrument cluster. That maybe something to look at but try all the stuff above first.
instrument cluster has nothing to do with kickdown.^^^^
For the fuel guage problem, most instrument problems are due to dry solder joints on the circuit board. need to take the board out and resolder all the points, or at least the ones that look sus. If you cant find any thing here to help, try the calaisturbo site, they have a lot of info on this.
Hi guys thank for all the info, I pulled the dash out and soldered the fuel gauge terminals an d now works a treat , so all problems (so far) have been fixed!
Awesome site guys thanks
