could b the sender unit on the float level in the tank as well man,,,
and as u stated a dicky gauge.. which can be manipulated to work
Hey,
My gearbox used to do this before I just got reconditioned. The mechanic I took it to wouldn't let me take it because part of the problem of no kick down because of the instrument cluster. That maybe something to look at but try all the stuff above first.
instrument cluster has nothing to do with kickdown.^^^^
For the fuel guage problem, most instrument problems are due to dry solder joints on the circuit board. need to take the board out and resolder all the points, or at least the ones that look sus. If you cant find any thing here to help, try the calaisturbo site, they have a lot of info on this.
Hi guys thank for all the info, I pulled the dash out and soldered the fuel gauge terminals an d now works a treat , so all problems (so far) have been fixed!
Awesome site guys thanks
