does a rim size change the way a car accelerates or anything like that? say going from 15" to 18"

hmm ok thanx now for the tricky question... wat about 18's on the front and 15's on the rear? shouldnt slow then should it?

No but it'd look absolutely stupid and you'd get cops chasing you everywhere.
You hardly notice it really.. The car doesn't do burnouts as much, I noticed between 16 to 17's that it was harder to spin the wheels, But acceleration was very minimal.
yeh the cops already seem to follow me due to the scoop, spool, and the scraping of my extractors on small speed humps![]()

well if your car is that low ur gonna have to raise it to fit 18's or your always gonna have a canary on it, my car is standard height and they still rub sometimes too, and it makes it unpractical as a daily driver because you scrape everywhere you go. it's up to you tho it's ur car but I had allot of hassles from the pigs with my old torana coz it was dropped with fatties on 15's
ucwepn where does your car rub? Front or rear? Guards rolled? adj panhard??
I'm hoping I won't have any troubles with genuine holden/hsv rims as the offset should be perfect. But I'm a little worried of course after spending so much on suspension.
i dare say it depends on teh setup, but i dont know what youd have to do. a couple of VLs round here have 18s and are low without any rubbing. i know they have the adjustable ph rod but aside from that minimal rub or scrape.
i had my mates 18's on to see how they looked and it diddnt rub when i took it for a mainy looked sick coz u couldnt see the whole rim, hidden in the gaurds ( which are rolled ) i just wanted to know would it affect acceleration and i have my answer

trust me it'll rub with 18's and lowered even with rolled guards you have to drive it differently to make it not rub (turn the wheel less) Coz on my old torana it was slammed to the ground with 15's had 195's front and 205's rear and it rubbed like a bitch. I haven't tried a panhard rod yet tho my vl doesn't rub at the back. at the end of the day its ur car and you'll be the one clearing the defect notices so go for it.
Maybe you've just got a dodgy offset?
they are the proper offset, it only rubs on the front under extreme load (read: sideways), I want to lower it 1 inch and will be getting my springs compressed and new shocks and nolathane bushes with an adjustable panhard rod, will it rub with this setup? 235/40 r18
also i think i need a new steering rack because when parking sometimes at full lock the whole rack will make a bang bang bang bang noise like a machine gun lol
