XF Throttle body is just increasing the amount of air that goes into the engine when you put your foot down. Instead of squeezing it through a small hole, its a larger hole and more can flow.

That kind of mod would combine best with your exhaust and then you could even get your inlet ported out etc. Depends how much you want to do. Get the breathing mods going. Stay external to the engine as much as you can unless you want to get into the big dollars.

cold air intake and filter. I heard xf throttle bodies were better for turbos guys?! Would he be better to just port his intake bit by bit.

search on www.calaisturbo.com tech article section for detailed info and a guide to do it, id look but yeah im feelin pretty lazy.
its a bigger throttle body so it gives better acceleration, and like bangers said. a cold air intake, cheap and works like a charm if you do it right K&N panel filter and you will be in business, shouldn't cost all that much either. btw just cut out the rear muffler and weld a pipe in place. but dont steal the tb off the blue XF down the back of pickapart on Canterbury road... thats mine lol

    K&N filter.....

there not as illegal as pods and there actully rated at just as good! plus doesnt give the dud sucking sound! =)

run it on premium or put additives.

umm.... could possibly run a spark plug cleaner through it aswell and a couple of other things along those lines... as it may not be in PERFECT condition.

cold air intake.. meh i dunno anymore

mines an 88 and it HAD a SL badge on the dash. I emphasise HAD. Now there is a HDT Sport badge there. I thought the SL and the exec were the same thing. Mine didn't have SL on the boot though. Dunno.....

Not much at all. Something to do with aircon/ powersteering/ manual gearbox.

    Hardly anything though.

All execs had power steering and aircon and I think a boot light lol but not 100% on boot light. A VL without power steering would be nasty hmmmm reminds me of my UC
