Just the other day the top hose leading from the radiator for the transmission sprung a leak and I lost a bit of fluid. I replaced the hose and refilled the fluid but now it slips when changing from first to second and it slips once stopped. Its an auto 4spd and Ive never had this prob before, can anyone help? :b:
On the VL's do you check the level with the engine running? It should say so on the dipstick. The level might still be low?
fluid topped up power steering level okay too
sounds like a torque converter seal same thing happened with my car it was leaking heaps and heaps of oil through the torque seal and because the car was low on oil it was slipping the gears (mostly in reverse) and you have to check it while the car is running you can keep refilling it for a while (costly) but its best to take it to a mechanic and get them to replace the seal i went out and bought a gearbox and found out the one i gots fine so yeah just the seal
dan
Its Stock And it Rocks .... ditch the bitch lets go racing
I suspect that you have overfilled the transmission, the fluid expands as it gets hot, check the fluid level with engine warmed up, idling and the car on level ground
the 2 hoses that take the fluid to and from the cooler in the radiator need to be looked at and the clamps checked for tightness occasionally
