Hey all
I have a VL '88 SL that is having problems
problem:
It starts up with only 4 or 5 cylinders firing, once it gets going runs on 5 or 6. also it cant idle, it just cuts out if given no throttle.
things ive done/checked:
I have a new fuel pump
i have checked ignition/spark leads etc
i have removed all rockers and replaced faulty hydrulic lifters(replaced 2 and no improvement, other then no ticking sound now)
currently having oil problems but not related
Any help?
Cheers in advance
Mark Morgan
Thanks for all the help guys :|
i found the problem and fixed it
it was an intermittant(sp?) spark lead (i check and must have been working when i checked it) that was crossfireing into another cylinder.
i replace the lead and it work beautifully(except for very little oil pressure but i know what that is)
Cheers
Mark Morgan
maybe a faulty oil pressure sender, screws into the block near the filter
