    Cool Low Idling

    hey ppls..
bought a Saas Air Filter the other day.. hooked it up etc.. gives it a lot more power but when im sittin at lights or in park, neutral, etc.. it idles really rough n half conks out.. sometimes it does conk out.. while im waitin for lights or sumfin.. any ideas? also if i disconnect the plug on the afm, it idles smooth but @ around 2000 + rpm...

The Air flow meter is fine coz i checked it out.. any ideas?

Also can i remove the air flow meter altogether? or at least keep it disconnected? any side affects? etc..?
I wonder what those scales on the top right side of my posts do...

youll get busted bumping so soon... or bumping at all, no need for it.

This filter you have put on, is that just a replacement for the panel? or is it a pod thingy and you have removed the airbox?
i have heard, and it happened on my camry at first, that an aftermarket filter such as a pod is fine, and good for power and economy BUT needs to be well shielded from engine heat. When you stop at lights etc the airflow stops and the VL gets a gutfull of hot air, resulting in a stall or tricking the computer. Could be some method in that anyway....
if its a relacement panel i cant see how it would make any difference to light idle.

need to shield the pod from the engine bay air, for example build a bigger box around it and run the cai feed from the box to somewhere outside the car. it just doesnt want a mouthful of hot as bay air. (may be something else but seems the most logical place to start....)

never done the hole underneath thing. a few others have done it. run the pipe through the hole and stick the pod elsewhere. do a search and see what comes up.
