buy lowered springs, cut them and your begging for trouble, cutting springs is extreamly dangerous, and highly illegal, your car will be defected and you will not only get a nasty fine, so will the person who cut your springs, and oh, not to mention, the cops actualy take yoru car away from you, then and there on the spot, bye bye vl,

so dont cut your springs, save up, and buy lowered springs

you snap a spring on the front, you drop a wheel of the ground, car digs in, starts flipping in the air, land on the roof, yoru dead, if not dead, in a realy bad way, prob never walk again, not to mention what would happen if you hit another car, hit a car, they sue you for all yoru worth, you have to pay, insurance wont, car is unroadworthy, you loose your licence, loose your job, loose everthing, credit ratting is shot to shit, all becasue you wanted to save a few dollars,

Get them compressed Its great for getting the right look coz you tell them how low you want it. I paid $120 to get all four done on my old car and combined with nolathane bushes all round it was like a go kart.

I chopped the spring in my pulsar, it was sitting low and i thought it was great.

Tried to take a few corners a little harder than usual and the car almost hit the guard rail.

The very next day those springs came out, and a set of lowered springs were added which made a huge difference.

I didnt know it at the time, but by cutting the springs your effectivly ruining your suspension because springs are made to a certain rate, and cutting them causes them to bend out of the shape they were designed for.

I had the cut springs in the car for 1 day!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!

firstly that would wanna be a joke or you are a d!ckhead.

secondly the back needs less coils (if any difference) removed than the front because they are under less pressure. do it like you said and it looks like all the gay VLs where the back sits lower than the front. all you need to do then is swap the mags on the back to some stockies cos you 'ripped ya expesive treads man' and youll be a real life hero!!! lol

    Just dont ever cut springs!!!!

The rear of my car is lower then the front, with stockies on the back.......whats your point?
He said to take 2 out of the back as the coils are designed to be higher in the ass to accomodate a full tank of fuel, luggage, etc so taking an extra half from the rear will have it level. Also althought illegal two of my mates have chopped front and rear springs and have had not one problem, been like that for over 2 years now...........

Airstrike i guess i just wanna see safer commodores out there. mags on the front and stockies on the back are illegal (unless they are exactly the same size rubber).
Your mates are lucky they havnt hurt themselves or anyone else.

Was certainly not a personal attack on you and i apologise for hitting a nerve.
It annoyed me that after all the talk about the dangers of cutting springs, someone walked in and says "just cut the springs" That was my point, and also my opinion.

Actually you can have stockies on the back as long as they are the same sorts of wheel on each axle, and they are within ADR regulations (15mm either way). They aren't illegal it just looks bad and you may be canaried for other reasons.
