Default Calais sitting lo on one side?

I just bought a 3l calais, It sit low on one side, Drivers, appears to be just th front and that is dragging the whole side down. It is a good inch or more lower than the passenger side.
When I bough it I assumed it would be a stuffed spring. And so did the Mechanic that looked at it.
Replaced all springs with brand new cobras. Still the same.
So I took it in to another garage in town, they couldnt come up with any answers either.
There appears to be nosign of any major impacts, they tell me the shocks are good.

Any ideas, has anyone come across this before.

    Any help would be great.
    cheers
    Damian

Welcome to JC mate. Good choice of car. Mine sat badly like you say when i bought it. I wish i had a better memory for why but it was actually something to do with the back end. it had been lowered and something had become off-set, causing the front to look lower on one side (back as well, it just seems the front is more noticeable).

Hopefully it is only something simple, if not sell it to me and ill pinch all the good bits off it!

if its been lowered the panhard rod should have been altered, perhaps disconnect it at one end and bounce the car and see if theres any difference
shims are sometimes used on the front to raise the height on one side but I expect these would have been looked for when renewing the springs

cheers, Ill check out the panard rod when I have the chance, although my last VL was lowered without one and sat flat, just pushes the diff to one side. Not ideal, rubbed on the guard on one side. I might have to resort to a shim, although I really cant understand why it would be sitting like this in the first instance
