    Default VL Exec Diff and Brake Upgrade

    Hi all
    I'm a newbie so please bare with me if this has been asked before.

    I have just bought a lovely 1988 VL Exec, one owner, with 100k on the clock, and full service history.

    I now have a set of the Police 15x7" 'chaser' rims with 225x60x15 tyres.

    I want to upgrade the Suspension, Diff and Brakes so my questions are;

    1. What is the best susp upgrade package? Does anyone have experience with the Whiteline Automotive or King Spring packages?

    2. Does the disc brake lsd out of a VL Calais/Turbo slot straight in? And do i need to get a different brake master cyclinder for the rear discs.

    What is the best brake upgrade? VL turbo or something like VX discs and calipers?

    Any other suggestions would be great and much appreciated.

    cheers
    H

    generally i think most people go for the vl v8 brakes or VT brakes, pretty easy swap and if you get the 1 inch master youll be laughing.
    No idea on the diff....

    I don't know what you mean by the diff - Just replacing the diff itself or taking the entire assembly?

    If you drop your drum rear, diff and axles out, and slot back a disc rear all you will have to do is get a handbrake cable.
    All n/a axles are 25 splines and the turbo and v8's are 28 spline. Stronger.

    You don't need the 1" master but I'd definately get it, better pedal feel and they are only about 50 dollars, around 100 changeover I believe.

    Ummmmmmmm.. Depends how much money you have, to do vlt/v8 front brakes properly i'd go new pads 50, new rotors, hmm... around 200-250 for slotted, so theres 300. I don't think vt+ twin spot conversions are much more then that. They are on this site in the shop I believe.

    28 spline, 600+
