yeah buddy it is mounted to the front of your timing cover above your thermostat. follow the centre lead off your dizzy cap back. all the wiring is sealed though. i'm trying to find thr rpm signal wire myself to hook up a tacho. if you find it let me know.

To hook up an aftermarket tacho,
    - hook up the GREEN wire (that comes from the tacho) to the BROWN wire in the iginition coil.
    - Where's the iginition coil? in the picture below, do you see a round red plug above the fan cover? Well to the LEFT of that red plug, there is a black plug.
    - The lead to that black plug has three wires inside (you have to slice the outter black cover to reveal these wires); 2 is pink and 1 is the BROWN you're looking for!
    - The brown plug is negative, which is what you need to hook up the tacho.
    - Slice the brown wire to reveal the copper
    - Simply attach the green wire to this!. (you may need extra wire to reach)
    - Tape it all up nice and neat and your tacho should be working.

Also, there is an short-cut method in hooking up the GREEN wire to the BROWN. Under the steering column, remove the cover, and you should see 2 pink & 1 brown. This is identical to the pinks & brown from the iginition coil.

ALSO I haven't mentioned about hooking up the red (power), black (ground), white (lights) wires that came with your tacho, which you should be able to do quite easily under the dash.

Possibly, but I'm not sure as that pic isn't my car. My car doesn't have cruise control (SL 5spd).
