hmmmm mini spool

i was thinking bout a mini spool in my vl,
ive heard its fun but is it possible to drive normally eg turn a turn and not have the wheel on the inside screach?

and i was thinking bout a LSD would that be bout the same price as a mini 2 get fitted or is it big bucks?
coz i was reading a lsd with 200lb spring in the housing is as fun as a mini spool but is legal and is able 2 turn turns safely

If You Want To Do doughnuts Then Dont Get Lsd. Do Doughnuts With Lsd And They Go Bang. Mini Spools Are The Way To Go For Burnouts But They Are Completely Locked At All Times, Yes You Will Get Chirping When Turning Sharp And Will Be Crazy Turning Corners In The Wet! Best Thing Is To Get An Lsd Built Tight And Do Burnouts But Not Doughnuts. not unless you want to fork out for a detroit locker......

so would a mini spool churp if u took a turn at a sensible speed? or if u were stopd at a turn the you turn? not flating it or flooring it but safly taking off in no hurry eg: in fuel saving mode?
would it churp then?

and anther thing would u just recomend biting the bullet and saving 4 a LSD bout 600 fittd the get it built or just getn a mini spool 250 (my prefrance)

im not the type 2 flaten it at every turn, im more mature then ur avg P plater (think) and ive heard nothing but LSD stuffn up time after time, and mini spools just keep on going and going and going and BANG tires blow

as blown said, depends what you want to do with your car that should dictate your choice. a mini spool can be had for real cheap and saying that, they will last you if you drive sensibly. have some mechanical sympathy in other words. a properly set up lsd will give you a good service life too, it's just a sad fact that the holden lsd is let down by its tension springs that weaken over time.....go the spool.

has anybody had or have a mini spool in the vl because i want 2 now if it real is notacable? compared 2 stock diff (open wheeler)

my m8s bro has one in a vr n it is noticable when you turn slowly and it also increases the turning circle of the car and the car will want to go straight all the time. mini spools cost like $100 and could prob be put in for like $60 which is a hrs work if it would take that long. but it is ilegal to have fitted and will void insurance if they find out. aparantly a kazz is fair good but they are also fair pricey

Id Still Go Lsd. Too Dangerous On The Road With Mini Spool, L8N is right, all they want to do is understeer. Plus Its Just Gonna Strain Your Whole Drive Train.

i think the tyres would be first to go......really, it's hard to say, what sort of lsd is it? a standard issue holden limited slip? if so, i think the mini spool would last longer.

yes, they are a form of pure mechanical lsd and they are an awesome bit of gear. they are a bit exxy though, but i presumed we were only talking about the holden lsd vs. spools.

I was replacing axles with a mini spool till i bit the bullet and got an lsd had no probs since. And i can drive through an underground carpark without making people cover their ears.lol.
